Masihkah kau ingat? Diawal tahun 2000-an, tepatnya dikampung Sayidan.

Tentunya sarat akan singalong: "Yes you was…She was my skinhead girl”.

Katakan Oi! 3x sehari.

Do you remember? "Next to each great woman stands strong man", that’s the echo of a slogan that is still relevant in the reality of today's life. This slogan is also adequate to describe the new single from the band Oi!/skinhead, who, as they say about themselves, were born on the street: The GLAD. In the early 2000s, in Sayidan's village to be precise. The seller of typical street food became a primadonna for skinheads and skinhead girls, who spent time together until dawn. They gathered to share happy stories regardless of their ethnicity or religion.

The scream expressing the spirit of the will to live contained in the lyrics of The GLAD's songs always reflects the realities of the struggles of people living on the street. Not only western groups such as The Oppressed, Warzone, Evil Conduct and others managed to express their love for skinhead girls smashing reality in the Western bloc. It is clearly visible that the new single "Yes, You!" non literally represents subcultures in Indonesia, especially skinheads. “I like you, yes you!” C'mon lads!

With a sound that is much more catchy than the previous singles, such as, “Anti Nganggur” and “Pesta pora”. This time, The GLAD gave their single a very distinctive musical color. Of course it's full of singalong: "Yes you was…She was my skinhead girl". An embodiment of the female entity (read: skinhead girl) in the skinhead subculture scene in Indonesia. This single is also released as a beautiful music video produced by a talented young director from the collective: Madepmanteb Lab.

Yes or no, for me the single, entitled “Yes, You!”, should be dedicated to the skinhead girl who has been or/and still stands firm with her partner towards a better, healthier and prosperous future in real life.

After the skinheads from the traditional market are gone, other skinheads emerge. Only they know what can happen, the universe will always bless you. Says Oi! 3 times day!

lyrics

YES,YOU!

Saat pertama kali kita bertemu
Senyum manismu melekat di hatiku
Sinar tubuhmu dibalik Fred perry mu
Langkah kakimu berpadu dengan sepatu bootmu

Gelap dunia saat kita berjumpa
Nonton band ska terfavorit buat kita
Ku genggam tanganmu kupeluk dengan mesra
Aroma alkohol hangatkan asmara kita

Bridge:
Berjalan bersama bercanda dan tertawa
Berbagi cerita gembira

Reff:
Yes she was... (2x)
She was my skinhead girl
Yes she was... (2x)
She was my skinhead girl

*Back to bridge

Reff:
Yes she was... (2x)
She was my skinhead girl
Yes she was... (2x)
She was my skinhead girl
