Punk started in Indonesia in early '90s. 20 years after its birth. The evolution of punk into grindcore, industrial, harsh-noise, techno is absolutely different than in Europe, America or Japan but all of them started in the same community and period. In punk community or at least closely knitted to it. Then the scene somehow grew separately but in some way is intertwined.
Jogja's beloved hc/punk unit AMOK invites 8 underground electronic producers to evolve their music into something new and challenging the scene. Their hard hitting heavy roll tracks from debut album Babak Satu remixed into hard-to-define styles but to help you figuring out is something related to ambient techno, funkot (indonesian happy house), gabber, breakcore, footwork, IDM, and experimental electronic. Eight tracks remixed by Billy Anjing of hc/punk Kontrasosial's techno project Glibly Ninja, two Yes No Wave Music rosters Y-DRA and Handoyo Purwowijoyo, Jagajaga from Bali's noise collective Chaos Non Musica, Xin Lie of Disaster Records and DJ label C*SSS, Teguh Permana (half of Sundanese ambient duo Tarawangsawelas), Jogja's funkiest unit Prontaxan and US-based Baby Aspirin DVD who also part of noise rock trio Lansanese from Jogja.
